Whitney L. Forbes
Whitney is a graduate research assistant with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee. Whitney is getting her Ph.D. in industrial engineering. Currently, Whitney is learning about detection and attribution in order to improve existing and establish new methodologies.
Whitney received her M.Sc. Degree in mathematical sciences from East Tennessee State University having a focus on operations research. Whitney’s thesis research was building a physiologically-based pharmacokinetic model for the antibiotic ertapenem. After constructing the basic model, Whitney was able to vary the parameters in order to study the effects of BMI and gender on the drug’s concentration in the blood.
